At Biika, we believe educated women can transform their communities and bring long-term sustainable improvements to rural parts of Africa.
We empower bright underprivileged young women to realize their potential and overcome the gender gap in economic opportunities through post secondary education, mentorship & coaching.
This initiative is spearheaded by our founder, Yasmin Zachary, whose West African heritage and first hand observation of the educational disparities between young men & women in rural Africa spurred her passion to bridge this gap.
Our selection process is based on academic excellence, personal drive to succeed, location and financial constraints.
By selecting exceptional girls in these impoverished regions; 'Girls who thrive despite their challenges', we are confident of our returns to produce outstanding future leaders, professionals and entrepreneurs breaking barriers and stereotypes in their communities and the world at large.
Using Education to create an Equal Playing Field for Underprivileged Black Girls
BiiKA is a registered non-profit. We liaise with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), reputable organisations and individuals to identify and support bright underprivileged young women. Our candidates undergo a transparent and reliable vetting process prior to selection.
